Story & Themes
In Minecraft: Story Mode, which begins with episode one entitled The Order of the Stone, main character Jesse (whose gender depends on player choice) is entering a building contest with their two friends, Axel and Olivia. The three have never won a competition before, but this year they hope to finally be victorious and attend the local EnderCon. Jesse's hero, Gabriel the Warrior, will be at the convention, and one of their greatest wishes is to meet him. Unfortunately, the fun of EnderCon comes to an end when someone summons a Wither, and Jesse, Axel, and Olivia team up with Gabriel in order to figure out what is going on and put an end to it.
The game has simple controls which are pretty easy to learn.
Violence Characters can hit each other with block-y swords, but blood is completely absent. Fighting is supposed to be cartoonish and not realistic.
Strong Language Occasional instances of "damn" and "hell."
Consumerism Minecraft: Story Mode is a part of the huge Minecraft franchise that includes plenty of merchandise in addition to the main game.
