New Overwatch Uprising Event Goes Back in Time

Seven years ago the brave men and women of Overwatch defended King’s Row against an invasion of rogue Omnic forces. Overwatch’s newest seasonal event, Uprising, takes us back to that critical moment before the team was disbanded.

Journey seven years into the past and join a group of Overwatch agents fighting through the streets of King’s Row to quell an uprising led by Null Sector, a rogue group of omnics. Team up with your friends and play as Tracer, Torbjörn, Reinhardt, or Mercy to defeat the robots and liberate the city. There are no reinforcements. Failure is not an option. The future depends on you.

The Uprising event begins today, April 11, and runs until May 1. The event focuses on a new unique cooperative mission. A special squad of original Overwatch agents Torbjörn, Reinhardt, Mercy, and then-rookie Tracer must survive against waves of robotic enemies in a destroyed version of the King’s Row map.

It wouldn’t be a proper event without loot boxes. Over 100 new cosmetic items have been added to the new Uprising loot boxes, including emotes, highlight intros, and skins. All the skins reflect the past theme of many heroes, including Overwatch agents and Blackwatch.

This is Overwatch’s second seasonal event of the year, following the Chinese New Year “Year of the Rooster” event in February. Overwatch also welcomed its third post-launch hero addition with Orisa last month.
