Kingdom Hearts fans rejoice! The unique series that blends Disney animation and Japanese RPG has been given an HD compilation pack, available now for PlayStation 4 for $49.99.

Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 ReMIX includes six titles:

  • Kingdom Hearts Final Mix
  • Kingdom Hearts Re: Chain of Memories
  • Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days
  • Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix
  • Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep Final Mix
  • Kingdom Hearts Re:coded

The original Kingdom Hearts and its sequel, Kingdom Hearts 2 launched for the PlayStation 2 in the early 2000s. Both received previous HD compilation releases for the PlayStation 3. Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix (2013) included Kingdom Hearts Final Mix, Re: Chain of Memories, and a cinematic remake of 358/2 Days. Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 Remix (2014) included Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix, Birth By Sleep Final Mix, and a cinematic remake of Re:coded. Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 ReMIX is essentially a single-disc combination of the two previous PS3 Remixes.

The compilation does not include the 3DS title, Dream Drop Distance, as that was included in the HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue released earlier this year for PS4. Overwhelmed yet? Trying to keep up with the various compilation packs and titles for this series will drive anyone to madness.

Fans are still eagerly awaiting the release of Kingdom Hearts III. The sequel has been in development for a decade (KH2 released in 2005). Information on KH3 has grown quiet over the last year, and no release date has been given.

The Kingdom Hearts series is currently enjoying its 15th anniversary this year. Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 ReMIX has been rated E10+ and is available now for PS4.
