This year’s FIFA game will introduce an all-new game mode called The Journey. This story-based campaign will star Alex Hunter, a young Premiere League prospect. You’ll play a full 2016/17 season and can choose between any of the 20 Premiere League clubs. FIFA 17 will also be powered by the Frostbite engine (Dragon Age: Inqusition, Star Wars: Battlefront).

“We’re embracing the power of the Frostbite engine to bring a new immersive experience to the franchise and give fans the chance to live their football story through the life of a professional footballer,” said Nick Channon, Senior Producer. “The Journey delivers that with authenticity, character interactions, and your performance on the pitch which will dictate your story.”

FIFA 17 is built on four new game mechanics. “We took the opportunity of introducing a new engine to look at everything we could do to deliver those moments where players jump out of their seat and make their friends watch the replay,” said FIFA 17 producer Aaron McHardy. “We ended up identifying four big areas where we could introduce a level of control we were never able to achieve before.”

Set Piece Rewrite gives you more creative control over every dead ball. Physical Play Overhaul changes the way players interact with the ball and with each other. The Active Intelligence System brings a smarter AI with several New Run Types. Finally New Attacking Techniques gives you more exciting plays and finishers. FIFA 17 is coming September 27 to North America and September 29 worldwide. It will be available on PC, Playstation 4, and Xbox One.
