Steam will not be having any flash sales or daily deals this holiday season. Instead, the digital distribution service will host scheduled sales windows.

The fall sale will start November 25 and will run through December 1 at 10 AM Pacific. The winter sale starts December 22, and ends January 4.

Eurogamer reports that Valve wrote to developers and publishers confirming that Steam will have no flash or daily deals this winter. “We’ll still be highlighting your top games on the front page for 24-48 hour spans,” Valve said, “but those products will stay at their most competitive discount, before and after being featured.”

In other words, definitely check out the highlights on Steam’s front page, but don’t worry about the deals disappearing. They’ll be available at the same discount for the duration of the sale.

“It’s not a major change, but it does make the sale a lot more valuable for customers, and it allows us to build sale features that recommend your product all sale long, instead of just during its front page feature,” says Valve.
