First announced during Twitchcon in September, the native Twitch.tv app for PlayStation 4 is here. You can download it now from the PlayStation Store.

During Twitchcon, CEO Emmett Shear promised Twitch apps for the PlayStation 3 and the PlayStation Vita as well. Those apps aren’t out yet, but they are meant to be released this fall.

The PlayStation 4 makes it easy to broadcast gameplay to Twitch, but watching streams meant using the built-in web browser. The Xbox One has had a Twitch app since March 2014,which makes this a very important equalizing move for the PS4.

With the Twitch app, you can access all the features of your Twitch account, including your favorite channels and the games that you subscribe to. On top of that, there is a dedicated section for finding and watching PlayStation streamers. Chat is a built-in feature in the app, as it is on the Twitch website.

Twitch is one of the top game-streaming sites in the world. It serves as a hub for esports, with millions of viewers tuning in to watch official matches of games like League of Legends and DOTA 2.

In 2014 Amazon bought Twitch for almost a billion dollars.
