In what is possibly the most exciting news of the century, Media Molecule is making a version of Tearaway for the PlayStation 4! The announcement came from Gamescom 2014, during Sony’s press conference.

Tearaway was released in 2013 as a PS Vita exclusive. The game uses the Vita’s functionality—rear touchpad, camera, and touchscreen—to create an immersive experience.

The PS4 version can’t do all these things, but it looks like Media Molecule is adding new functions that take advantage of PlayStation’s Dualshock 4 controller. This includes the touchpad that’s on the controller itself, as well as the light on the back.

The new game will be called Tearaway Unfolded, and from the trailer it looks like it includes new areas to explore. There’s no word yet on whether there will be more unlockable papercraft items, but we can hope! Check out Pixelkin’s review of Tearaway here.
